This week, kindergarten and first grade students kicked off their new unit on Art through the Ages with a virtual tour of the Caves of Lascaux. Students learned that the images in these caves are estimated to be up to 20,000 years old, and give us a peek into what life was like for the people who made them. After exploring how and why we believe cave artists created these images, students got to work on their own Lascaux-inspired art using chalk and oil pastels.

This was a fun and interesting project! I enjoyed watching how you made your cave-style paintings. They looked like the real ones!
