February has been a busy month over in the art room. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, our early childhood and primary students learned about a number of artists who are known for using hearts in their work. They explored the street art of Chris Uphues and James Goldcrown, examined the patterns and colors of Romero Britto, and experimented with texture in the style of pop artist Jim Dine to make their own artist-inspired valentines! Kindergarten students also made these beautiful watercolor and masking tape relief paintings
inspired by Robert Indiana's LOVE sculpture. |
